Hawks Aloft, Inc. brought four birds of prey to the Silver City Library for a presentation on raptor biology and conservation. Held in conjunction with a PNM-grant-funded education program for Silver City schoolchildren, this free presentation was sponsored by the Upper Gila Watershed Alliance.
Grant County residents of all ages flocked to the library for Tuesday’s presentation, which was filled to capacity almost a half hour before the program began. Limited to about 50 people for the safety of the birds, the presentation focused on educating the public about four very different raptors.
