Apply for the Gospel Mission Sierra House Woman and Children’s Shelter to see if you qualify (we do have to be careful of who we allow to stay because we have kids we are responsible for living there)
If you have suffered from domestic abuse you may be eligible to stay at El Refugio Battered Person’s Shelter
We can see if we can get you into the women’s shelter in Deming where there are no background checks
We can see if the Las Cruces Gospel Mission has room for you
Check with Hina at the front desk at the Mission to see if we have any tarps or tents (if not she will put your name on a list to save one for you) that you can set up on public land in the Forest
McDonald’s and Walmart are open all night and you can get warm, stay dry and use their restrooms if you act responsibly

Stay at the Gospel Mission Cold Weather emergency Shelter in the soup kitchen between November through March (we are trying to get enough resources to either open the emergency shelter full-time or establish some type of permanent shelter, housing or camp)

I’m Hungry And I Need Food Or Water
The Gospel Mission soup kitchen is open every day for lunch between 12 and 1 pm and every weekday from around 8:30-9:30 for a hot breakfast and you can remain or outside rec area until 1 pm; we also serve dinner to men staying at the cold weather shelter
You can get an emergency food box twice monthly from the Mission food pantry
You can receive food help at the St. Francis Church (914 W. 13th St) every Monday between 2 and 4 pm
You can receive an emergency food box from the Grant County Food Pantry/Volunteer Center (501 E 13th St) on the 1st Saturday of each month between 10-12pm or the last Wednesday of each month 4-6pm
You can fill up water jugs and bottles at the hose in the Gospel Mission rec area during business hours
I’m Cold And I Need Clothing
You can get 10 articles of clothing each month for each family member at the Gospel Mission Clothing Bank every Monday-Friday between 8:30-1:30
You can get 1 blanket or bedroll if we have any and 1 coat each year; if you are homeless and lose your items, we make exceptions (up to a point)
I Need A Job
See David at Workforce Solutions (410 W. Broadway) and he will see if he can find a job for you or check with the Gospel Mission to see if there have been any calls for day laborers
I Need To Shower Or Use The Bathroom
You can shower every Mon-Fri a the Gospel Mission on a first-come, first-served basis between 8:30-11:30 when we have to close it down so we have enough hot water to wash dishes with
I Need To Clean-Up Or Need Help For A Job Interview
Talk to the Gospel Mission and if you have a proven interview we can get you a nice set of clothes that fit reasonably well as well as a haircut and a shave

I Need Help With My Addiction
Talk to the Case worker at the Mission and we will set you up with one of the many local addiction recovery programs
I Need Medical Attention
Talk to the Case Worker at the Mission and she can give you a 1st Aid Kit and give you a co-pay voucher for use at HMS; The Mission also has a weekly foot care clinic and wellness check between September and May
