Revised: Daniel Bardé, 37, of Silver City, NM - full obit

Daniel BardeDaniel Bardé, 37, a resident of Silver City, NM passed away on Monday, November 30, 2015 at his residence. He was born May 24, 1978 in Roswell, NM to Don M. Bardé and Josefa Placencio.

He was a Silver High graduate ('97) and immediately joined the U.S. Army and served as a National Guard Specialist from '96-'02. He was also on Air Defense, Air Defense Avenger and System Crew Member. He received an honorable discharge.

Mr. Bardé served as a Silver City Police Officer from 1998-2002. He was a Swat Sniper, Canine Officer, Gang Officer, Bicycle Patrol Officer and Field Training Officer.

In 2004 he received an associate degree in General Studies from Northern NM Community College.

He got a Medal of Valor in 2006. He went to NM State Police Academy, where he was a less Lethal Force Instructor, Drug Recognition Expert, Tactical Tracker, Hazmat Emergency Response Officer, Emergency Response Team and also Field Training Officer. He was Valedictorian of his NM State Police Academy. He received numerous certificates of appreciation. In 2009 he was District Officer of the Year.

He loved the outdoors; enjoyed hunting, four-wheeling and camping. He loved to grill.

He is survived by his son, Daniel Elizar Bardé of Chama, NM; his brother, Robert Bardé and wife Beth of Tucson, AZ; his sister, Catherine Bardé of Colorado Springs, CO; his god-parents, Eulalio and Manuela Peru of Silver City; step-mother, Lennette Bardé of Silver City; an aunt, Ernestina Cook; uncles, Merejildo Placencio (Lupe); Eduardo Placencio (Cesaria); Frank Placencio (Consuelo); numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his paternal grandparents, Mancel and Catherine Bardé; maternal grandparents, Edwardo and Mariana Placencio.

Visitation will be Monday, December 14 at 10-11am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the holy rosary to begin at 11am with Deacon Bill Holguin reciting. The funeral liturgy will follow at 12:15pm at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Oliver Obele officiating. Concluding services, interment will follow at Gila-Mesa cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gary Peru, Anthony Polanco, Eduardo Placencio, Joseph Arredondo, Ben Villegas, Brian Polanco, Lorenzo Rivera and Efren Canas. Honorary pallbearers will be Lorenzo Rivera and Efren Canas.
