Junior wide receiver Xavier Ayers and junior defensive back Alfonso Wilson were each named to the D2CCA All-Region Teams on Wednesday. Ayers landed on the First-Team, with Wilson being tabbed to the Second-Team out of Super Region 4.

The Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities. Sports Information Directors from across the region nominated and voted for the All-Region Team.

Ayers was named to the All-RMAC First-Team earlier in the season before adding this honor. Ayers was amongst the best receivers in the nation this year after breaking the school record since moving to Division II in 1992-93 in receiving yards with 1,356 on 91 catches and five touchdowns. He broke Ronnell Pompey's receiving yards mark. He was second in the nation and led the RMAC in receiving yards, was third and led the RMAC in receiving yards per game (99), fifth and led the RMAC in receptions per game (8.3), 10th in the RMAC in receiving touchdowns and 77th and eighth in the RMAC in all-purpose yards per game (123.91).

Wilson was tabbed to the All-RMAC honorable mention team prior to adding his region award. He was third on the team in tackles with 58, including 35 solo. He led the team in tackles for loss with 13, interceptions with three and was second on the team in sacks with three. Of his three interception returns, two went for touchdowns. He also added three pass breakups, a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. He snagged two RMAC Defensive Player of the Week honors. He ranked 39th nationally and third in the RMAC in fumbles recovered and 89th and fourth in the RMAC in tackles for loss per game (1.2).
