Donald "Don" Blaine Gill, 84, of Silver City, NM

On November 27, 2015, Donald "Don" Blaine Gill passed away at Mountain View Regional in Las Cruces, NM.

He was born on July 24, 1931, in Groom, Texas. He moved to Douglas, Arizona, at age 12 and was a 1951 graduate of Douglas High School. He worked as a truck driver for Maddux and Sons, until he moved to Playas, New Mexico, in 1975. He was employed by Phelps Dodge as a locomotive engineer until he retired in 1994. After he retired, he lived in Silver City and Las Cruces, NM. He will be best remembered for his sense of humor, work ethic, and love of family.

He was preceded in death by his son Lynn Robert Gill.

He is survived by his wife Janette Maddux Gill and daughters Candy (Don) Milam and Leisa Pauley. Other survivors include his five grandchildren - Shane (Nicole) Gill, Josh Gill, Lynn Allen, Eric (Roxanna) Frisby, and Kari (Josh) Flores and five great-grandchildren Derick Frisby, Lucas Flores, Preston Allen, Mya Flores, and Ayden Garcia-Gill.

Services will be held Friday, December 4, 2015 at 11:00 O'clock in the morning at Baca's Funeral Chapels in Silver City. Concluding services and interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Shane and Joshua Gill, Lynn Allen, Eric Frisby, Josh Flores, Don Milam and Joe Fralie.
