Like all good hobbits, Mr. Bilbo Baggins is helping the Gospel Mission prepare a feast for anyone who is alone or without food this Thanksgiving Day.
He realizes that a hot meal can be the first step out of homelessness and that there are many people who are all alone during this holiday.
He is preparing turkeys, hams, a couple hundred pounds of mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, green bean casseroles, candied yams, cranberry sauce, homemade rolls, relish trays, and lots of pumpkin pies and other tasty morsels from the Shire.
The dwarves of the seven kingdoms will also be handing out 20 turkeys with all of the trimmings they can gather to some very needy families in their neighborhood.
Bilbo knows that there may be up to 300 people coming to this special feast and while the Mission has all of the volunteers they need for this day, they still may need a little help paying for it.
A gift of $1.89 will pay for one hot turkey meal with all the trimmings.
$1.89 feeds 1 person – $18.90 feeds 10 people
$37.80 feeds 20 people – $56.70 feeds 30 people
$23.48 will purchase 1 turkey basket for a family

Bilbo also will be accepting your donations of turkeys, stuffing, cranberry sauce, green beans and other goodies directly.
Homemade desserts for this special day are always a big hit and he will be passing out gifts of new warm socks and hygiene kits to those who attend.

In partnership with the local Salvation Army, Bilbo’s feast will be served this Thanksgiving Day, Thursday November 26th from 11 am – 1 am in the Silver City Gospel Mission Soup Kitchen.
