The New Mexico State Legislature has proclaimed October as National Arts and Humanities Month in Silver City and recognized the Mimbres Region Arts Council for its work in “building communities inspired, enriched and strengthened by the power of the arts.”
Senator Howie Morales presented the Legislature’s official proclamation to the MRAC board of directors vice president Mimi Clark during a ceremony at the HUB in Silver City on Friday, October 16. Morales spoke of his passion for education and concern with how the arts are being left out of school curricula, making the work of MRAC especially vital for the Mimbres Region.
