Job Training Incentive Program Awards Eight Companies $1,161,580. ...

Santa Fe, NM - The New Mexico Economic Development Department's Job Training Incentive Program (JTIP) board approved $1,161,580.40 in funding in July to create 427 jobs and $453,785.92 in August to create 52 jobs in New Mexico.

"JTIP helps local job creators employ and train New Mexico workers and helps further diversify our economy," said Economic Development Secretary Jon Barela. "It's wonderful to see companies continue to utilize JTIP to help grow their businesses and workforce."

July's JTIP recipients were:

Mindshare Studios, Inc., Santa Fe - Mindshare Studios has grown from a company whose work consisted largely of developing media-rich, Adobe Flash applications to specializing in deploying Content Management Systems such as WordPress and Drupal for businesses across the United States. Mindshare is a full-service web development and design company focused on web design and mobile application development, branding, technology consulting, and managed web hosting on dedicated and virtual cloud servers. 1 job, 15,332.50

Ryan, LLC, Santa Fe - Ryan, LLC is an award-winning global tax services firm, with the largest indirect and property tax practices in North America and the seventh largest corporate tax practice in the United States. 2 jobs, $31,894.86

Rio Bravo Brewing Company, LLC, Albuquerque - Rio Bravo Brewing Company produces and distributes a number of specialized and seasonal beers for local and regional distribution. 2 jobs, $23,560

Solaro Energy, Inc., Socorro - Solaro Energy moved their manufacturing facility from southern California to Socorro in 2012. The company manufactures solar-powered attic fans, skylights, back-up batteries and generators. 2 jobs, $14,977.60

Santa Fe Brewing Company, Santa Fe - The Santa Fe Brewing Company is New Mexico's oldest and largest brewery, founded in 1988. The brewery currently distributes in nine states and plans to produce almost 20,000 barrels of beer in 2015. 2 jobs, $14,832

Comcast Cable Communications Management, LLC, Albuquerque - Comcast is one of the nation's leading providers of communications, entertainment and cable products and services. Comcast is expanding Customer Service operations, particularly in the bilingual market. The company has selected Albuquerque to locate its newest Customer Support Center with a focus to serve its bilingual customers. 338 jobs, $918,969.60

Nuvita, LLC, Albuquerque - Nuvita provides corporate wellness programs that are personalized to an organizations' and individuals' needs and goals on an annual or multi-year basis. The company's proprietary technology combines clinical level exercise physiology and an easy nutrition program with software and hardware that make it both fun and easy for employees to succeed. 5 jobs, $84,013.84

CPFD Software, LLC, Albuquerque - CPFD Software develops and distributes computer-aided-engineering software products for industrial applications that require a heavily laden particle flow field using the company's breakthrough technology, computational-particle-fluid-dynamics, or CPFD®. 5 jobs, 1 intern, $139,244.72

Descartes Labs, Los Alamos - Descartes Labs is a technology start-up founded by scientists who spun out of the Los Alamos National Laboratory in late 2014. The company's licensed artificial intelligence technology teaches computers how to understand satellite imagery in order to gain a better understanding of Earth's natural resources. 1 job, $35,320

The Job Training Incentive Program reimburses qualified economic-based companies for a portion of training costs associated with job creation. The program provides for classroom or on-the-job training, reimbursing an expanding or relocating business for up to 75 percent of a trainee's wages for as long as six months. The amount of the award depends on the number and complexity of jobs, the wages paid, and the business location.

To qualify, new or expanding companies must either create a product in New Mexico, or provide a nonretail service with 50 percent of the company's costumer or revenue base outside of the state. The eligible jobs must be full-time and year-round. The trainee must be a new hire to the company and have been a New Mexico resident for at least one year at any time prior to being hired.
