The Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce today announced that the special guest speaker for its Annual Meeting will be Lavu, Inc. CEO Andy Lim. The event is scheduled for August 6 from 11a.m.-1:30 p.m. and will be held at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
Lim has grown Lavu, an iPad-based point-of-sale software company, to reach more than 85 countries and this week he announced that the company has raised $15 million in funding. The funding came from Aldrich Capital Partners of Washington, D.C. and is possibly the largest funding of its kind in recent New Mexico history according to recent news reports.
"We are thrilled at the opportunity to host Andy for our largest annual event," said Terri Cole, Chamber President and CEO. "We all love a great story of success in business and Andy's is fascinating. It will be great to learn more about his company, its incredible achievements, and his plans for the future."
Rather than a traditional at-the-podium address, the event will feature an interview-style discussion between Cole and Lim that will focus on business, innovation and the entrepreneurial spirit.
The event will also serve as an official welcoming for incoming chairwoman Elizabeth Shipley, Director, NM Public Affairs, Intel Corporation as the Chamber begins its new program year.
Sponsorships are still available and registration is open on the Chamber's website, www.abqchamber.com.
Thanks to our sponsors for this event: PNM, Intel, NM Mutual, Sandia National Labs, Pulakos, AT&T, and French Family of Companies.
