ACI President Jason Espinoza's column on the Fair Workweek Act was featured in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday. From the column: New Mexico’s economy presents enough challenges already. The Fair Workweek Act kicks struggling New Mexicans when they’re down. It straps employers with higher costs, unprecedented liability and requirements that defy common sense.Left between a rock and a hard place, some employers will close shop and leave New Mexico. Others will be forced to make layoffs and cuts. At the very least, business will have to think twice about hiring, since the bill makes it so much more expensive and risky to do so. Not exactly what 58,000 out-of-work New Mexicans need right now. Read the column here.

EPA Ozone Requirements
ACI submitted a letter to the White House and New Mexico's Congressional Delegation this week in opposition to the extremely costly 65ppb ground-level ozone standards proposed by the EPA. The proposal is estimated to cost New Mexico over $8 billion in compliance costs, tens of thousands of jobs, and billions of dollars in compliance costs. Read the letter here.
