Governor Susana Martinez has proclaimed August 15, 2015 Native Plant Day in New Mexico.
In observation of Native Plant Day, the Gila Native Plant Society (GNPS) is partnering with Lone Mountain Natives. A 10% discount on native plants will be offered to GNPS members by Lone Mountain at the Saturday Farmers Market in Silver City, 8:30 to noon. GNPS will also be represented with information about programs, publications and membership.
The Gila Native Plant Society is committed to promote education, research and appreciation of the native flora of the Southwest, to encourage the preservation of rare and endangered plant species and to support the use of suitable native plants in landscaping.
